About Joy Davis
After spending too many years ignoring the voice that told her to write (because she was too busy pursuing the career that she thought was proper for her talents and training), Joy Davis now spends her time writing about life and lessons that she is learning.
Songs on The Well include soft rock, a bit of grit and jazz, with a message of recovery and strength (and they've won three awards!).
Joy is a member of the Positive Music Association, and her musical objective is to inspire, entertain and create hope and remind people of their capacity for good.
Joy started in rock bands as a teenager then went to music school and played in jazz and cover bands to help with college costs. After attaining a master's degree in music, she sang for the Dayton Opera chorus and had many church soloist jobs. She entertained cabaret style at some of the area's finest clubs and restaurants and has worked as a music director for theatre productions.
Joy answered a calling when she took a position as keyboardist at Unity of Dayton. While she has been at Unity, she has experienced a great surge of spirit. She realizes that one of her strongest gifts is to inspire and encourage through songs.
She has felt a strong call to write music and has answered that call. She loves sharing her experiences of growth and recovery in her songs and hopes to encourage people to keep reaching for their dreams as they walk the path of their lives.
Some of Joy's songs are now receiving airplay on KAFM and Radio Positive.
