About Blake Addison

Raised in the South, Blake Addison has been influenced by Gospel, R&B and just about every kind of music in between. When you listen to his music, you can hear a little bit of all of those influences.

Performing since he was fifteen years old, in 1985 he formed a band called Cream of Soul. They become one of the most sought after cover bands on the East Coast. Blake opened up for various national acts, such as B. B. King, Glen Frey, Joe Walsh, and Boston.

In 1999, Addison made the move to Nashville where he developed his songwriting and artistry. While there, he teamed up with powerhouse tunesmiths Jimbeau Hinson (Party Crowd), Marc Alan Barnette (Rescued Me), Tim Schneider (Me, the Moon, and the Radio), Dana Hunt (Check Yes or No) and Charlie Black (Goodbye Says It All).

Blake continues to write songs that tell stories of hope, happiness, some heartaches and just plain old songs about living life!

In 2001, Addison’s song, I Wanna Be Back In Texas, was 1st runner up in the Dallas Songwriter’s Association Contest. Blake was named Best Vocalist of the Year, as well.

In 2002, his song, Simple Things, was named Best Country Song from the same association. Blake co-wrote both of those songs with Jill Larson (from Plano, TX).

In 2003, a new artist, Blake Stamper, recorded two of Addison’s songs: I’m Home and This Side of Heartache (co-written with Tim Schneider).

In 2004, Addison performed at the Frank Brown International Songwriter’s Festival, held every year in Perdido Key, Florida.

Blake Addison currently resides in Durham, North Carolina, where he is running his highly successful furniture consignment store, Classic Treasures. He lives with his beautiful wife, Adele, and their daughter Savanna (age 3), who keeps him busy when he’s not writing or performing.

Each of the songs on Blake Addison’s Contemporary Christian CD, The Unreachable, reflects his beliefs and convictions in dealing with life and what it means to be a Christian. All proceeds from the sale of this CD go to The Lottie Moon Missionary Fund, supporting the missionaries who are spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world.
