About Bodega Dragons

After having been in many bands over a fifteen-year period, Roberto (Sir2u2) decided to place an ad in New York's Village Voice newspaper to form a band of his own. Through trial and error, in 1992 he chose bassist/BU vocs A. Casado, drummer D. Silverstone, and Yasuto, an exceptional young guitarist, and the Bodega Dragons were born.

Based primarily in east Manhattan, The Bodega Dragons played the Village Circuit clubs for years. In 1994, Sir2u2 produced their "Unfinished Business" CD at World Studios in lower Manhattan's Chinatown District.

Their hybrid styled musical sound is best described as Bob Dylan meets AC/DC and Metallica. Many of the Unfinished Business CD tracks have both TV, and film possibilities built into them because of their urban lyrical and performing hooks and content. Stay With Me, is their only rock/pop ballad -- a well crafted, catchy love song with hitsong screaming out at you.

"I write about what I know best, and about what I have seen and/or experienced during the course of my life. Our music might not always be strictly pop chart/hit music, but I definitely have stayed true to myself musically, and have always also tried to keep it real, and in the now" stated Sir2u2; Indeed he has.

His songs touch on urban city crime, drugs, the plight of the homeless, serial killers, and of the satanic power of evil on our society. Welcome to their world - the Bodega Dragons - keeping it very real - totally awesome, and hard edged.

Note: Roberto recently completed a book about his twenty-five-year heroin addiction entitled, Dancing On Broken Glass.

A Message From Roberto

Having been clean and sober more than twenty-one years of my life at this writing, I firmly believe that it was all a part of God's grand plan for me to live while so many had to die - and possibly for two reasons.

I believe the first reason is for me to be able to pass on the message of hope to others still suffering from any addictions.

Once I became capable of understanding that I wasn't just simply weak or crazy, but that I was, in fact, controlled by an unrelenting disease that wanted me dead, only then was I finally able to make the conscious decision to begin fighting back for my life.

The second reason - to allow me the much needed time to become better equipped, both mentally and spiritually, to finally begin writing about it all in my book. I guess I will never really know.

I do, however, know that if just one single life is altered or spared from street gangs and/or addiction after reading my memoirs, then my book will have truly served its primary purpose for me in its writing period.
