I believe we're all connected. Sometimes we're lucky enough to have those connections made visible. If you're reading this, chances are you're in recovery (or you're related to someone who is), as are all of the musicians with CDs for sale in our store.

Whether during joyful times or times of unbelievable pain, listening to music has always offered me a way to reconnect with my feelings. Admittedly, there have been moments when I was looking to escape, but music took me gently by the heart and walked me through some tough growing pains.

In my teens, I only dreamed of being a songwriter; Now, I am one. And if I hadn't gotten clean and sober, I would have missed this entire awesome journey.

I've come to appreciate the great music that is being created by independent artists. Not music that's written for climbing charts and keeping jobs, but the authentic stuff that makes me remember how to feel.

On January 7, 2005, I wrote in my morning pages, that I wanted to find a way to connect two things I'm passionate about: music and recovery. That's when I came up with the idea for Sunlight of the Spirit Music - the only music store on the planet offering music exclusively from artists in recovery.

It excites me to introduce you to talented artists I believe in. I hope you'll visit often and discover a new favorite artist or two while you're here.
